Role Profile: Workday Release Consultant
Role Summary: The Release & Deployment Leader is responsible for the entire release management lifecycle, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for deploying releases. This role coordinates with multiple departments to manage application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, and more. The Release & Deployment Leader in conjunction with project management determines what is slotted in each release and helps resolve conflict with any potential competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Workday Tenant Management:
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Workday tenant management, including configuration, security, and data management.
Manage tenant accounts, user access, and permissions, ensuring proper maintenance of user profiles.
Employ strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve tenant-related issues.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to keep them informed about changes, updates, and best practices.
Maintain data integrity within the Workday system, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Show adaptability in change management, staying responsive to the evolving needs of the Workday Platform.
Product Support:
Provide support to Product Owners, through the full project lifecycle, from initial implementation to ongoing enhancements/optimizations, addressing and resolving issues related to the deployment of solutions on Workday Platform.
Develop a deep understanding of HR / Financial business processes and their technical integration with Workday functionalities.
Ensure appropriate quality of testing of the solution(s) design has been achieved E2E, in a production-like environment, prior to deployment.
Develop and facilitate the process for M&A, onboarding new acquisitions to the Workday Platform and broader BackOffice ecosystem.
IT Governance / Risk framework:
Establish and maintain a governance structure that aligns IT strategy with business objectives.
Inform the development and implementation of policies, procedures, controls, and metrics to manage IT risks effectively.
Implement controls and safeguards to mitigate identified risks and regularly monitor their effectiveness.
Invest in continuous improvement of the IT governance framework to adapt to the evolving technological landscape and emerging threats.
Release and Deployment: Ensure that solution design follows the established IT governance framework for deployment with required documentation.
Core Skills:
Utilize creative problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues affecting release scope, schedule, and quality.
Set the strategic direction for release management processes within the organization to align with business goals.
Collaborate closely with Application Managed Services, QA, project management, and product teams to ensure successful software release deployments.
Work with IT management to continuously improve software engineering and deployment processes.
Proactively manage risks and troubleshoot issues to maintain release integrity and quality.
