As a Data Analyst on our team, you will build financial healthcare models, analyze claims data and develop reports for stakeholders. You will have the ability to observe large-scale data trends as well as dig deep into the details. As a Data Analyst, you will translate data into meaningful insight; and this insight will support strategic business decisions aimed at improving both the affordability and accessibility of healthcare for our members.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Model out scenarios to forecast impact of business strategies. Determine and complete additional analysis needed beyond standard reporting to inform business strategies
  • Provide consulting services to external clients to understand and improve pharmacy benefit insights
  • Use detailed claims data to identify and solve a range of scenarios within the pharmacy and medical benefit
  • Write queries from relational databases and summarize information in a meaningful way
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert to share insights on data trends across the organization. Mentor others on the team

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of analytical experience
  • Experience in data analysis tools (ex. SQL, R, SAS) to extract insights from complex healthcare data sets
  • Experience manipulating healthcare claims data
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to synthesize complicated analytics and communicate with stakeholders at various levels within the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with pharmacy analytics and proficient knowledge of the pharmacy managed care space
  • Experience identifying discrepancies in data and recommending solutions

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
