Job Summary: Pathways to Resilience, LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our team. The CPA will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing tax returns, conducting audits, payroll, and providing strategic financial advice to clients.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and reports in compliance with regulations.
· Conduct audits, financial analysis, and risk assessments for businesses and individuals.
· Maintain accurate general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and financial records.
· Develop budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategies for business growth.
· Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and state tax laws.
· Provide advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, and investment decisions.
· Research and apply changes in tax laws and accounting regulations to maintain compliance.
· Assist with internal controls, fraud detection, and process improvements.
· Communicate financial insights and strategies to clients, executives, and stakeholders.
· Manage and process payroll, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments, tax withholdings, and compliance with payroll regulations.
· Oversee payroll tax reporting, benefits deductions, and employee compensation compliance.
· Handle payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
· Oversee accounts payable/receivable and financial transactions as needed.
· Utilize accounting software such as [QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or other relevant tools].
Qualifications:
· Must reside in Houston Harris County, Texas or surrounding areas.
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience (public or private sector preferred).
· Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax codes, auditing standards, payroll processing, and financial regulations.
· Experience in payroll management, tax withholdings, and compliance reporting.
· Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, ADP, Paychex, Excel, ERP systems).
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
· Strong communication skills and ability to explain financial concepts to non-experts.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
