Job Overview

Ground Level Construction Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Federal Contracts Project Engineer to join our team specializing in commercial and federal sector projects. As a Federal Contracts Project Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our projects, from planning through execution. You'll collaborate with the Project Manager and Superintendent to streamline processes, manage logistics, and ensure exceptional quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage document control, ensuring accurate distribution of plans, specifications, permits, and revisions.
  • Prepare and distribute RFI's (Requests for Information) and maintain related logs.
  • Oversee submittals: prepare, review, and distribute while ensuring meticulous record-keeping.
  • Utilize Building Connected to track bids and subcontractor proposals.
  • Assist with subcontractor buyout and selection processes.
  • Participate in meetings (e.g., OAC), creating clear and timely minutes.
  • Prepare change orders and solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor and report on work progress, perform quality control checks, and assist with field challenges.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, owners, and subcontractors.
  • Support schedule updates, manage punch lists, and oversee project close-out documentation.
  • Assist in creating CPM schedules and maintaining logs in Viewpoint Spectrum.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Prior construction industry experience preferred, with healthcare, science & technology, corporate office, or education projects a plus.
  • Understanding of construction materials, methods, and business practices.
  • Familiarity with permitting processes and construction technology/software such as MS Office Suite, MS Project, BlueBeam, Procore, and ViewPoint.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification preferred.
