Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager - Saint Clair, Mo The Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for coordinating and implementing health and safety initiatives for food and chemical manufacturing in our St. Clair facility and supporting other campus buildings when needed.
Key Responsibilities: - Offer guidance and assistance to all site leadership personnel to enhance their understanding of health and safety protocols.
- Enforce and oversee the implementation of company safety initiatives and policies, ensuring compliance with OHSA and relevant health and safety legislation.
- Carry out regular site inspections, address safety issues, and conduct health and safety audits.
- Foster transparent adherence to health and safety standards through activities such as H&S walkarounds, maintaining corrective action logs, conducting risk assessments, and observing behavioral-based safety practices.
- Review site-specific health and safety requirements and actively participate in on-site safety meetings, occasionally leading these gatherings.
- Co-manage the Health & Safety Committee, including conducting incident investigations, aiding leaders in incident reporting and root cause analysis, and overseeing the Corrective Action Preventive Action tracker.
- Maintain comprehensive health and safety records, monitor statistical performance, and facilitate Workers' Compensation Claims administration.
- Assist in managing return-to-work and modified work programs for both management and employees.
- Deliver internal safety training sessions and conduct safety toolbox talks.
- Lead the health and safety component of new hire orientation training for both campuses.
- Fulfill additional health and safety responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications: - Associate or bachelor’s degree in an EHS-related field –can be substituted for work experience
- Minimum 5 years of H&S experience required in addition to education requirement. Preferably in a food or chemical manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
- Experience in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet) EHS Management and Learning Management System experience is preferred
- Ability to multitask and prioritize according to workload
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed facilitation and training skills
- Collaborative and team-focused leadership style, Calm, diplomatic, and pleasant demeanor
- Physically required to be able to be on a manufacturing floor, wear specific PPE, and walk and stand for long periods of time
Details: - Direct hire
- First shift position, willing to work off hours as needed
- $110,000/year DOE with:
