Early Childhood Education Program features:Educates students for successful careers working in the Early Childhood Education field.Talented, diverse faculty with extensive experience working in the field.Strong partnerships with industry and community partners.Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:Teaching a full-time load (32 credits per academic year) in Early Childhood Education, including courses in the Spanish track.Promoting the College?s Early Childhood Education Program to prospective students, community partners, and employers.Participating in ongoing professional development to stay current with developments and best practices in theEarly Childhood Education industry and career and technical education pedagogies.Participating in departmental, school, and college meetings to maintain collegial and cooperative work relationships with faculty colleagues and all college personnel.Participating in course, department, and institutional review, revision, and assessment projects.Serving Minneapolis College on committees or in other roles.Minimum QualificationsApplicants must possess or meet the minimum qualifications for the Minnesota State credential field of Early Childhood Education/Education Aide.Education Requirement: Bachelor degree in education with 12 semester credits in early childhood education.Occupational Experience Requirement: Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience with children ages birth to eight years old.Recency Requirement: One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement(to be completed within first three years of employment)Preferred QualificationFluency in Spanish/ability to communicate in verbal and written forms to provide instruction in Spanish in the Early Childhood Education Spanish track. Proven understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the communities that they serve.Experience providing instruction in all modalities, including in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous formats.Proficiency with Microsoft Office application and a learning management system such as D2L Brightspace.Other RequirementCurrent and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.Work Shift Schedule variesSalarySalary Range: $43,067 - $71,893 annually. Salary schedule placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2023 - 2025 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.Application Procedure: Interested individuals should apply online.
