Job Description: Compliance Officer

Position Overview: We are seeking a diligent and experienced Compliance Officer to join our team. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that our organization operates in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies and procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of compliance principles, risk management, and the ability to provide guidance and oversight to ensure ethical conduct and adherence to legal standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory Compliance: Monitor regulatory developments and changes in laws, rules, and regulations applicable to our industry and operations.
  2. Policy Development: Develop, implement, and update compliance policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate compliance risks and promote adherence to standards.
  3. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify compliance risks and vulnerabilities, and develop strategies to manage and mitigate these risks.
  4. Training and Education: Provide compliance training to employees, ensuring awareness and understanding of compliance policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
  5. Monitoring and Auditing: Conduct periodic compliance reviews and audits to assess the effectiveness of compliance programs and controls.
  6. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and maintain compliance reports, documentation, and records for internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Investigations and Resolution: Investigate compliance issues, violations, and incidents, and collaborate with relevant departments to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
  8. Ethics and Conduct: Promote a culture of ethical behavior, integrity, and compliance throughout the organization.
  9. Client Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence on clients and counterparties to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
  10. Advisory and Support: Provide guidance and advice to management and employees on compliance matters, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (Master's degree or professional certifications such as CAMS, CRCM, or CCEP preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Compliance Officer or in a similar role, preferably in the financial services industry or regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent understanding of risk management principles and the ability to assess and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ethical standards and commitment to promoting a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.
